Sneak Peek at Dainty Flowers

Last week Demonstrators at Stampin’ UP! were able to order from the new upcoming Jan-Apr mini catalog and the Jan-Feb Sale-a-Bration brochure. This is a fun perk of being a demonstrator, getting to see the new products early and playing with them. I chose to make a card using the free with $50 purchase Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper Packs and the new Love For You die sets. Amazingly enough, this card has no stamping.

The real star of this card is the beautiful floral wreath oval from the free-with-purchase Dainty Flowers DSP. I love the color combinations and used them to my advantage when designing my card. The wreath panel is cut to 3-3/4 x 5 and you can get 6 from each sheet of DSP. The blue checked panel was cut to 4 x 5-1/4, also from the Dainty Flowers. I layered a piece of white cardstock behind both, cut to 5-3/8 x 4-1/8 and placed it all on an Old Olive 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 card base.

Tone-on-Tone Sentiment

Let’s talk about the sentiment. The new die set Love For You has several words to cut out with coordinating layers. I chose to do some tone-on-tone by first adding rich razzleberry ink to white cardstock with a blending brush and then cutting out the sentiment. I cut the actual words straight from Rich Razzleberry cardstock and used liquid glue to adhere them.

I used the same technique on the flowers from the Dainty Delights die set by adding crushed curry ink to white cardstock and then cropping out the flowers. I dabbed a bit more crushed curry ink onto the flowers after they were cut using my blending brush then finished them off with gold swirl embellishments.

I know you’ll be excited when you see your own catalog come in the mail. The Dainty Flowers DSP is free with a $50 purchase which is pretty cool since it coordinates with The Dainty Delights stamp/die bundle. I love it when SU does that for us.
