Lighting the Way

One of the things my nephews from California love to see when they come to the midwest are the hundreds of Lightning Bugs on warm summer evenings. We have a woods out our back yard with no extra light of any kind and we see Lightning bugs galore out there. It’s almost magical. This card reminds me of those nights and to enjoy the little things in life that make you smile.

To create this card I pulled inspiration from the Jan-Apr mini catalog and then added some additional elements, some of which are retired, like the wooden textual embellishment and the brass metallic paper. But, even with all that, the card is easily duplicated with what you might have on hand.

Die cut the lantern twice, once in brass and once in black. Cut off the black outer portion and use liquid glue to adhere to the brass piece. Overstamp the leaves on the Soft Sea Foam then stamp the little glow images where your lightning bugs will be.
