Perfectly Detailed, Perfectly Embossed

One of the things I love to do is heat emboss on patterned, Designer Series Paper. Some of you might be shocked to hear that, how could you ever stamp over that beautiful paper? Well, let me tell you, it’s a cool effect and a neat way to use large detailed stamps. Today I’m sharing the Perfectly Detailed stamp, which is quite busy on its own, but on a piece of Fancy Flora DSP

Sometimes with those large stamps, it’s daunting to think of the coloring you would have to do to make it work on a plain piece of cardstock. Try stamping it onto a piece of DSP instead and heat embossing it with your favorite powder. I used white here, but gold or silver would also have been pretty cool.

Once I had my background it was a matter of adding details and a sentiment. I pulled out the technique I shared a couple of weeks ago (You can see that post HERE ) where you place a filled-in die on a stamp pad to add ink then crop with your die-cutting machine. The results are pretty cool when using the Brushed Bouquet die set as I did here. Each flower was inked with the same color as the cardstock for a tone-on-tone look in Pool Party, Pale Papaya, and Fresh Freesia.

The sentiment is pulled from the new Happy Labels Stamp/Punch Bundle. The punch can create two separate designs on three different sizes of card stock for lots of variety.
