Fun with Stenciling

Technically I have another February Paper Pumpkin alternative card but only because I used one of the included die cut pieces as a stencil. Almost any die cut piece could be used as a stencil so this isn’t just about what you can do with the Paper Pumpkin but it was fun to create with it.

There are lots and lots of great elements in the February Paper pumpkin, one of which is the gold foil die-cut. It makes a unique stencil with all the different flowers and leaves. Here’s another great thing….you can order a Bouquet of Hope February Paper Pumpkin refill kit for $10. See below for ordering details in my List of items used today section.

Place a small piece of post-it tape on the backside of the die-cut and taped it to a piece of 3-3/4 x 5″ basic white cardstock then pull out your watercolor pencils and start coloring.

Remove the stencil and grab your black journaling pen or very fine tip black marker. Highlight areas on the stencil to bring out the detail.

Finish it off with an embossed strip of Flirty Flamingo and a sentiment from Happy Thoughts punched with Label me Fancy punch and some pearls. I used Pastel Pearls (item #154571)

Stenciling is such a fun way to add color and depth to your projects. Try using any of the detailed dies you own already, or a doily or other fancy pattern.
