Give Thanks

For All Things…..What a wonderful sentiment, this time of year as we start to plan for the Thanksgiving, Christmas and Hanukkah Holidays.  I used that sentiment as my feature sentiment for today’s card.  I’ve a great reason to send this card as well.  You might have noticed that my website has changed, for the better I hope, and that is because of the wonderful work of Brian Watt at Integrantservices.com.  Brian’s wife is also a Stampin Up Demonstrator and they have done a lot of work with people like me who are tech savvy enough only to get ourselves in trouble.  I hired Integrantservices last week and have been so thrilled with the quality of the work he performed.  So Brian, this card is for you.

I was actually inspired by a previous card I made with a similar layout.  You can see that card here.  This time I wanted to use more background stamping to set it up and to pull in more traditional fall colors – Hello Honey, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Island Indigo.  Yes, Island Indigo can be a fall color too.

The leaf underneath the tag was made using Autumn Accents Bigz Die.  I love this die this time of year as I can create some pretty realistic autumn leaves to accent my projects.  To create the distressed look, cut out the leaf in a paper of your choice.  DSP or card stock will work.  I prefer to use a yellow based paper as it gives me more options for adding colors. Spritz it with water and the crumple it up.  Smooth it out and hit it with a heat gun if you don’t have time for it to dry on it’s own.  Once dry, I sponge it first with Calypso Coral, then add some old olive in the middle.  Add some Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso for depth.  Stampin Up For All Things Washi Tape Note Tag Punch

I pulled in the watercolor stamp and the branch for the inside as well.  The background was stamped with Gorgeous Grunge using Crumb Cake – stamped off once first.

The gold button from the holiday catalog and some gold thread pulled from the gold bakers twine add the final touches.
