Birthday Wishes for Cliff

If you have read some of my previous posts you’ll know that I work with a bunch of really terrific men, and some fabulous women too.  But, mostly men.  I committed to myself this year to make a birthday card for each member of my staff, 15 of which are men, as a token of my appreciation,  This week is Cliff’s birthday.  Cliff is one of the first folks I met when moving to this team in Jan, he was one of my interviewers.  In addition to being a great technician and programmer, Cliff also has been a dance teacher, dabbles in fencing with his son and is a sharp pool player. And, per his admission, is sensitive and has a bit of a feminine side. What does that make Cliff?  It makes him unique.  I chose to make this card for him this week.

Not really ubber masculine, not really feminine either.  Perfect.  I think he’ll love it.

About the card

1.  Top note takes center stage here.  It’s such a versatile die.  For today’s card I also cut a half piece in Daffodil Delight and then ran that through the swiss dot embossing folder.

2.  The flower background is punched with Fancy Flower, then layered with the Five Petal Punch (retired).  A The very center of the flower is a piece of old olive embossed with square lattice embossing folder and topped off with a pearl.  touch of ribbon and a Happy Birthday sentiment (not from SU) and it’s good to go.

What I used:  Ink: Cherry Cobbler.  Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Festival of Prints for the envelope liner (retired) Accessories: Top Note Bigz die, Perfect Polka Dots, Square Lattice, Envelope Liners Framelits, Fancy Flower, Five Petal flower (retired) 1/2″ circle punch, pearls

  1. Lynn – I bet Cliff will love this card. It’s beautiful without being girly. Love that you added a flower and managed to keep it not-too-flowery. The Top Note die is perfect for this card!
