You’re Invited Kids Card for The Paper Players #163

Today I made a CAS kids card for the The Paper Player Challenge #163.  I thought I would try my hand at the chalkboard look using Always Artichoke as the background and some of the so so cute Zoo Babies.

And here is the challenge

About the Card
1. Getting the look.  I practiced on scrap paper and a craft sponge so I could get just enough of the white craft ink to look like chalk and not a big white smear.  I practiced a lot!  That white craft ink goes a long, long way.

2.  I used the animal stamps from Zoo Babies and the You’re Invited from the Oh Hello Stamp set.  I thought I neede a balloon though to bring in the upper portion. Sadly I do not have a balloon stamp, so I improvised.  I used the round ornament stamp from the Ornament Keepsake stamp set.  I punched a circle to cover the center of the stamp’s design so the middle of the balloon would be empty.  I then masked off the bottom of the monkey so he would fit inside the balloon.

3. By punching  holes at the bottom of the balloon and on either side of the elephant’s trunk I could tie the balloon string to the elephant.  Final touch was white gel pen drawn on border.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Happy Wednesday.

Lynn

What I used:
Stamps: Zoo Babies, Oh, Hello, Ink: White Craft Ink, White Gel Pen, Stayzon Black, Paper: Always Artichoke, Basic Black, Accessories: Paper Piercer, Bakers Twine.
