Postage Due Birthday for the Pal Paper Arts #178

Today’s card is specifically for a friend as well as for the Pal Paper Arts.  This card is for Christine.  She is a great friend whom I met at church specifically in the hand bell choir.  Christine and I ended up playing next to each other about two years ago and hit it off immediately.  We both have two daughters, and work full time, similar sense of humor and  love crafting.  I was hosting my first Card class a while back and asked her if she could come.  She had never made a hand crafted card in her life. She did so great.  She has come to all of them since, even a marathon 20 card stamp a stack, but best of all, she came to help me at the craft show I participated in last weekend.  She was such a trooper, she demoed our Make and Take (We couldn’t get any one willing to do the making, so Christine volunteered to do them) which drew people into the booth.  I was very grateful for her time spent that day.  Her birthday happens to be next week so this card is made with her in mind.  IMG_1288

About the card
1.  I am definitely on a Stamp on DSP kick.  The paper from Soho Subway has Crisp Cantaloupe and Early espresso already in it. Cool, two out of three.  I pulled out my Postage Due collage stamp set and stamped the paper with the background image in Early Espresso.  I also stamped it again on Crisp Cantaloupe so I could cut out the bicycle and the flower in the image.

2.  Gorgeous Grunge in Summer Starfruit provided just a hint of yellow droplets on the paper and cardstock.  I also stamped the stamp images on summer starfruit cardstock.

3.  From My Heart provides the perfect sentiment – along with the Happy Birthday- for Christine.  I double stamped that too, and snipped out the Friendship banner to place on top.  I also sponged just about everything with Early Espresso to soften all the edges.  There is just a bit of Early Espresso over the top of the Friendship stamp, which was stamped on Natural White cardstock.

Well, I hope you liked my card.  More importantly, Christine loved it. Thanks for stopping by today.
