Today’s wedding invitation is one I’m working on right now. I’ve changed the names so I don’t spoil anything for the bride who’s name today is ‘Jennifer’. : )
Jennifer’s wedding style is Vintage with beautiful Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding. We added Very Vanilla and used Crumb Cake as the card base. She is using burlap ribbon elsewhere in her decor so the Burlap ribbon from SU was perfect for tying it all up.
Jennifer had sent me a picture of an invitation with an actual doily wrapped around the invitation and tied with a bow as one that she particularly liked. I wanted to step it up a bit and make it a little more sturdy. I cut the card base to 11 x 7, scored at 2 3/4 and 8 1/4 so when folded it would be 5 1/2 x 7. I then stamped it with the Hello Doily background stamp in Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder on each side and fussy cut the doily for the gate fold front. She loved it.
The inside
Final touches. I carried the doily onto the envelopes and response card. I used a corner punch from Martha Stewart to adorn the inside, the response card and the envelope flaps. The inside of the invitation even has a few pearls.
So far I’ve shared three gate fold style cards. To see my other gate fold style posts click Fresh and NY Elegant. While each has the same basic construction, they are very very unique in presentation. Later this week I’ll be finishing with a pocket design invitation and a book style that I hope you will like.
