I am honored to be Mary Fish guest Stampers today from StampinPretty.com. I started stamping about 4 years ago and soon found Mary’s blog and became a devoted follower, never dreaming that I might one day be a guest stamper on a blog I so enjoy reading.
Today is my second post for Wedding Week featuring wedding invitations I have created. Wedding invitations are one of the ways I like to use my creativity and stamping the most. I like the process of asking the questions to get a feel for what kind of invitation they want, which is way more than just what colors to use. I ask about the location, the style of wedding, the time of day, what other invitations they have liked, or not liked, etc. It forces me to be flexible in my style while providing them something that is totally created by me with my own little touches. Yesterday I posted a wedding invitation I called “Fresh”. You can see that post here. Today’s invitation, though similar, is a totally different style and feel and I call it ‘New York Elegant‘.
The bride’s colors were Bashful Blue (now retired), Basic Grey, Whisper White and Gold/Silver accents. The ‘Fresh’ invitation from yesterday is soft with all rounded corners flowers and swirls. This invitation is full of points and corners yet maintains a very elegant feel. We went through many many samples with various invitation styles before finally landing on this one, which was completely different from the invitation she had seen of mine that caused her to contact me in the first place. Funny how things work out.
All the silver swirls, stamped with an Inkadinkado stamp, were stamped with versamark then heat embossed with Stampin’ Up! silver embossing powder, I did A LOT of embossing while creating her invitations.
Initially Silver was the only accent but as is very typical with brides, she wanted a change to the original design and asked to have gold also incorporated into her invitation. The inside I have to admit, I panicked a bit on how to pull that off with all the silver and grey already incorporated. I opted for the use of gold lettering for their names, and gold trimmed edges sponged with gold ink for a touch of shine.
The response card and both outer and response envelope The Back with outer envelope and Response card and envelope tucked in the belly band I relaxed once I knew the shipments had arrived safely in New York and she was thrilled with her invitations. I loved being able to be a part of her very special day.
Here are a few reasons why you should consider hand crafted invitations:
- I use only high quality Stampin’ Up! paper,
- Packages include your invitation, outer envelope, response card, response envelope
- All your initial samples are free
- Very reasonable prices
- Other coordinating items are also available.
But the very best reason…… your invitations will be unique to you and you alone. You can be assured that you will not have an invitation like anyone else and it will be handcrafted with care.
I hope you have enjoyed my invitation today and thank you so much for coming over from Mary’sStampin Pretty blog. If you are in need of wedding invitations and would like to consider using me foryour special day, contact me directly at StampingWithAverysOwley@gmail.com.
