Day 4 Wedding Week at the Owlery – Contemporary

Hi all.  If you have been visiting my blog all this week you know I’m deep into what I call wedding week at the Owlery.  Jan seems to be the time when brides and grooms start all their wedding planning, including choosing invitations.  So far I’ve shared three similarly constructed invitations based on a gate fold design.  You can see each of them by clicking Fresh, New York Elegant and Vintage Doily.

Today’s card is a big departure from the gate fold and is based on a contemporary pocket fold design using Pool Party, Whisper White and Basic Black.

The outside.  The bride and groom’s first names could easily be printed on this front flap.IMG_1485

Pockets are very much on trend right now, and why shouldn’t they be.  They hold all the multiple pieces of information included in a wedding invitation.  My version here neatly holds the response card and response card envelope.

I like to use a 5.5 x 7 inch folded size for invitations for a couple of reasons.  It just looks classier with the larger size.  It has plenty of space for all the details of the day. It’s proportionally  larger than the response card for better aesthetics.  And lastly, it fits in a standard envelope size, although I make all my own envelopes, so there are fewer issues with mailing.  Additional postage is required though simply for the weight.  This is pretty typical for any wedding invitation.

Here are great reasons to work with me for your invitiation needs

  • I use only high quality Stampin’ Up! paper,
  • Packages include your invitation, outer envelope, response card, response envelope
  • All your initial samples are free
  • Very reasonable prices

But the very best reason…… Unique to you and you alone.  You can be assured that you will not have an invitation like anyone else.

  1. Another beautiful invitation. I like the pocket card a lot. What do you use to make your own envelopes? The envelope punch board and Stampin’ Up! Card stock? Do you need Sticky Strip to hold it together?

  2. I made invitations for my son and his wife who were married in September. I am expecting to make a set for my niece who is planning to get married this summer. For my son’s invitations I used envelopes that I purchased. For my niece’s I am hoping to make the envelopes. What do you use to seal the flaps?
