Day 5 of Wedding Week at the Owlery – Floral Beauty

Welcome to Day 5 of Wedding Week at the Owlery.  Today’s post is a wedding invitation I designed that I call Floral Beauty.  For those of you new to my blog, I’ve been sharing Wedding Invitation styles all week this week hoping to inspire all you lovers of paper crafting or provide options for 2014 and beyond Brides and Grooms.

For today’s invitation, I wanted to show a soft color combination but one that I think is attractive to lots of brides and grooms.  While I chose Blushing Bride, Basic Black and Whisper White, most any color combination would look stunning in this design.

The outside is all black, the flowers from fabulous florets are heat embossed in pale pink embossing powder (the embossing powder I used is not a Stampin Up product and currently SU doesn’t offer Blushing Bride or Pink Pirouette in embossing powder…..hmmm maybe something to post on the suggestion box).  The dry embossing folder is one I picked up at a craft store.  I liked that it was a larger that the standard 4.25 x 5.5 and would work well for a larger card such as a wedding invitation. This invitation is 5.5 x 7 when folded.

The inside shows off the possibilities with a pocket design.  The actual wording of the invitation would be on the left panel.  The pocket contains the response card, response card envelope and then I’ve included two other sheets that could be used for maps, registry information, directions, etc.  The headings placement on these sheets would be right above the top ribbon.

Here’s a close up of all the pieces in the pocket.  The theme of the flower stamp from the front is carried throughout, even on the response card envelope.

I have one more wedding invitation to share with you for day 6.  I hope you let me know your thoughts so far and plan to stop back for the rest of Wedding Week.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.
