Hip Note birthday

Today’s card is a CASE (copy and share everything) from Michelle Gleeson at Stampinmojo.com of her post this past weeks on the Pals blog hop.  She showcased a crisscross card that I just had to try.  I made today’s card for my husbands best friend Ed.  They have been best buds since one tried to beat up the other when they were in second grade.

About my card
1.  To create the card base, I followed Michelle’s directions and used a standard 8.5 x 5.5 piece of cardstock folded in half.  Then cut one side from corner to corner.  The cut piece is turned over and used as the opposite side. Both pieces are adhered on the sides so it makes a pocket.

2. I had also gotten a new shippment of fun stuff from Stampin’ Up! yesterday so I was able to use some of the new items from the Occasion catalog as well. I used the Fresh Prints stack for my Designer Series Paper.  Cutting one piece down to a standard 5.25 x 4 and then cut corner to corner.

3.  I used the new scallop tag topper to create a pull for the inside piece.  And of course the Hip Note stamp of Oh Snap and the Just Sayin’ phrase with the coordinating Word Bubble framelits of You’re How Old? was just perfect.

I know Ed will get a kick out of it.
