It’s Friday and time to play with the Pals Paper Arts. Here is this week’s sketch challenge and my project .
I chose to show off some of the new Bohemian Designer Series Paper as a sneak peak for today’s project. The Sketch called for three shapes underneath a banner and this paper design had little diamond shapes just begging to be punched out with my 1 inch square punch. I cut out three more 1- 1/4 squares in Blackberry Bliss.
The flower is created using the same paper alternating the patterned sides. This and the use of the diamonds came from Debbie Mageed another Stampin Up Demonstrator and fellow Stampin Pretty Pal. You can see her blog post here. For my flower I used the one of the 1-3/4 scallop, two of the Label Bracket punch, two of the 1-1/4 scallop circle and two of the 7/8 scallop circle punch. As Debbie instructed, I spritzed them with alcohol and scrunched them up, then layered them together. I pierced a hole in the center and put in a brad to hold it all.
I used the Just Because sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts, stamped with Versamark and heated with white embossing powder on Blackberry Bliss. I used my Blackberry Bliss marker and shaded underneath the sentiment for the appearance of a shadow. Can you ‘spot’ the mistake I made? I didn’t use my embossing buddy before heat embossing so it ended up with speckles of white where I didn’t really want them. Note to self “always use the embossing buddy first’!!
