2015-2017 In colors for the Pals Blog Hop

junebloghop2015Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for July.  This month we are excited to show off the new 2015 – 2017 Stampin’ Up! In Colors, namely,  Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder.. The In Color products include card stock, designer series paper, ribbon and other embellishments.  We hope you find great inspiration from the projects in today’s hop.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from stop #22 Debbie Mageed at Secret Stamper on the Pals Hop.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

This month’s blog hop is all about our new In-Colors.  I have already come to love these colors alone but today I have a project that really appreciates them as a collection.

Last week I posted a card I made using the Watercolor Wings and the Bold Butterfly Framelit that coordinates with it.  When I punched out the butterfly using the framelit last week I was left with a piece of whisper white with a perfect butterfly in the middle of it.  Instead of throwing it away, I used it as a mask to create the butterfly for today’s card.

I taped down my sheet of whisper white with post it notes then taped my mask over the top to hold it down while I sponged.  I started with Mint Macaron sponged in the center of the butterfly.  Next I used Delightful Dijon sponged over the remaining butterfly.  Without lifting the mask I used Watermelon Wonder on the second of the three step stamps to color the edges.  The third stamp set for the center of the butterfly and a bit of the wings I used Cucumber Crush.  Lastly for the butterfly body I used Tip Top Taupe.  I also sponged the edges of the butterfly, with the mask still in place, with Tip Top Taupe.

The only item missing is a sentiment, also from the Watercolor Wings stamp set stamped in Tip Top Taupe.  I love the simplicity of this card contrasting with the beautiful mix of colors on the butterfly on the Mint Macaron card base.  It truly needs nothing else.

The next stop is #24 Kimberly Sparks at Stampin’ Daisy  on the Pals Blog Hop!  Thanks for visiting; I hope to see you on next month’s Pals Hop!
