In my full time day job I like to carry a notebook. I keep all my notes from meetings from day to day in one notebook so I can refer back to them. Each notebook generally lasts me about 6 months and being in the business of Paper Crafting, I can’t have a ‘naked’ notebook, now can I.
The great thing about notebooks is any notebook can be covered. Just measure the width and length and reduce by about a quarter inch for a nice fit. The cover of this notebook was almost exactly the same color as our new Delightful Dijon. Now that isn’t one of the colors in the English Garden paper but it does blend well with the piece I chose for the background. The coordinating colors I selected includes Night of Navy and Mossy Meadow.
I used the Lots of Labels framelits for the center piece, using watercolor paper over Night of Navy. I first stamped the flower from Choose Happiness with Black Stazon on the watercolor paper. I stamped it again on a post it note and snipped it out to make a mask. TIP – Don’t throw away your mask. Store your snipped or cropped masks in the stamp case for future use. I placed the mask over my flower then stamped the leaves twice to make them appear to be behind the flower. I used my aqua painter to color the leaves first with Mint Macaron then with Mossy Meadow. For the flower I first used Island Indigo then again with Night of Navy several times to apply the shading. Sahara Sand and the spots stamp from Awesomely Artistic stamped off twice. I also used it to shadow the image. I wanted one final touch and used the Hello from Hello You Expression Thinlits in Mossy Meadow.
