I was asked by a co-worker to create some cards for her to have on hand. She specifically asked for some ‘kid friendly’ cards as her son is in daycare and has lots of friends. I made two cards for her collection, similar yet different and driven from a sense of frugality. I leave all the left over pieces from one project on my work space where they often find their way into the next. Check in Wed to see the companion project.
My project was inspired by the Mojo Monday sketch challenge from July 6.
I thought I’d use the center as a window rather than layers so I used the Lots of Labels framelits to create a window in the Burmuda Bay piece of Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I cut another window from Pool Party with the next size down of the Lots of Labels. Finally another piece of Cherry on Top.
Save save save. The piece of Pool party with the Happy Birthday sentiment is the inside of the window on the card. I love using Endless Birthday Wishes for sentiments because it is so easy to mix and match them with different colors. If you also like Endless Birthday Wishes, you should check out Endless Thanks, a new stamp set in the annual catalog. Same idea, different sentiments. Both, oh so versatile.
Sprinkles of Life – I used the cone stamp with Tip Top Taupe on Hello Honey and snipped it out with scissors. It’s an easy snip with all the straight lines. The ice cream is Cucumber Crush ink stamped on Cucumber Crush card stock and Watermelon Wonder ink on Watermelon Wonder card stock. Both were punched using the Tree Builder Punch.
For a final touch, I added some Dazzling Detailes to the sentiment and the ice cream.

HANK Update. For those of you not familiar, Hank is our new puppy we brought home in Dec 2014. He is now a big boy at 9 months old and at last check weighed 60 lbs on his way to probably 80. Honestly, it’s mostly fur. Here’s the first picture of Hank from December when he was only 9 weeks old. And one from this week…..

What a cheery card – that Cherry on Top paper is made with a wonderful collection of colors – your layout and choices makes those colors super-cute. Wow! Hank is big and just as adorable as when he was a pup. Hi, Hank!
Love you card and Hank is such a handsome dude!! LOL!
