Hi everyone. I thought I would take a twist on my card today. I based it on the color challenge from the Pals Paper arts using Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Tangelo Twist. You might immediately think of a fall card with leaves and twine but I thought birthday for my good friend Christine. I also wanted to challenge myself to make a very nearly single layer card. Or at least one with no dimensional aspects like buttons or bows. Here’s my card.
As I mentioned earlier this week, when there are color challenges with some heavy hitting colors it is a good idea to look for ways to incorporate white space. I pulled out Celebrate Today and my For All Things stamp sets and went to work making the central image using only the three colors in the challenge. I added some splatter using gorgeous grunge and stamped off with Hello Honey and Tangelo Twist.
I said above I didn’t want any obvious dimension but I did want subtle dimension so I used my paper trimmer to add score lines all around the top layer. They don’t photograph well but you can see a bit on the bottom edge.
Don’t forget the inside. I selected the You’re The Best sentiment from Watercolor Words stamped in Blackberry Bliss.

It’s all in the details – I LOVE how you lined up the word “HAPPY” with the top of the watercolored image. These colors work really well for your card – it’s wonderful. Thank you so much for playing along with this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge.
Love this card. I have lots of Bdays from Oct to Dec. This would be great for either male or female, with a little tweaking.
TFS.

Great card!
This may sound odd, Avery, but the flecks of color on the background are my favorite part! They add such character to the background, and yet don’t overpower the creation. Don’t you just love Gorgeous Grunge? Thanks so much for playing with Pals Paper Arts color challenge!
I simply love all the details and layers you created with ink in this color trio! Such a lovely fall card, wonderful job! Thank you for playing along with us this week at the Pals Paper Arts Challenge!
Love how the Blackberry Bliss card stock layer provides a perfect frame for your stamped image. The combinations of ink with the stamps create a very peaceful image. Thanks for playing with the PPA this week Lynn!
I love the way you mixed sentiments from Celebrate Today with images from For All Things. Genius! Something I might just have to CASE 😉 THanks for joining us at PPA this week!
