Sunshine Birthday

Today’s post is a departure from the autumn colors and leaves and thank you sentiments and a celebration of birthday.  One of my staff had a birthday last week and this was the card I made for him.  Seth is a young man I’ve had the priveledge of having on my team for the last 2+ years.  The great thing about Seth is his ever present positive attitude.  He doesn’t get riled up, if he gets frustrated he doesn’t show it and he is always smiling. That’s why I made this card for him. Stampin Up AverysOwlery.com

I used a new set, for me anyway, called Ray of Sunshine.  The sun image is actually 4 separate stamps the I combined together to make one single sun.  I stamped twice before reinking for all the long rays and full strength on all the short little rays in-between.  At first I thought I would just have the sun and the sentiment but when I had it all put together it was lacking.  The top right corner was too empty and the sun was too blah.  Gold Dazzling Details and candy dots to the rescue.  I used Marina Mist candy dots in the top right to pull in the border.  The Gold Dazzling Details, my new most favorite embellishment, was just dotted around the ray points.    Stampin Up AverysOwlery.com

Don’t forget the inside.  Big News had the inside sentiments I wanted.  I also wanted Seth to make a big deal over it being his day as he is an identical twin and he has had to share every birthday his entire life.

This is also one of my most favorite color combinations, Night of Navy, Crushed Curry and Marina Mist. Crisp, cool and perfect all year round.
