A Watercolored Rose Wonder

I’ve been experimenting with all the new goodies I ordered in December from the Occasions Catalog.  One of my favorites was the stamp set (with coordinating framelits bundle) Rose Wonder.  For today’s card I used only the large rose stamp and my aqua pen with re-inkers.  Here’s my card.

To create this look I used my aqua painter to do a wash of water over the white heat embossed image.  I then used a clear block as a pallet and dripped re-inker onto the block.  I felt like I could control the amount of color saturation a little better.  I used Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist and Perfect Plum for the flower; Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow for the leaves;  Soft Sky for the background.

Once everything was dry I use my Wink of Stella (new product available from Stampin Up) to add some shine to the image.

Don’t forget the inside.  I didn’t want to over do the inside and have it take away from the lovely rose on the front.  I simply stamped the sentiment from Rose Garden using Blackberry Bliss and the leaf in Mossy Meadow.  I added some Pear Pizzazz and Tangelo Twist using my markers.
