I love a card with a wow factor. I could be the extra touches on the front or a unique fold, or a surprise on the inside. This card definetely has a wow factor, or rather an Ohhh, Ahhh factor as attributed to my stamp club when we made it last week. Here let me show you. This is the outside. Cute right.
And this is the inside…..
It’s called an explosion card and there are gobs of videos on pinterest/you tube on how to create it. Click here for the one I used. It’s really quite simple to create. A couple of tips.
- Use regular copy/printer paper for the inside. It will fold tightly enough to fit inside the card without giving away the surprise.
- Stamp the images on the inside before you fold so you don’t get funky lines in your designs.
- When folded, the inside does fit into a 4-1/4 x4-1/4 square card but I didn’t like that there wasn’t a border around the inside so I made my card 4-1/2 x 4 1/2.
- Because my card was 4-1/2 x 4 1/2 it would not fit into a standard size envelope, BUT, Envelope Punch board to the rescue. You can certainly make a square envelop, or do what I did which was to make the 4-1/2 x 6 envelop (paper cut to 8.5 x 8.5 and scored at 3- 3/4). This happens to be the usual size envelope I make anyway as it give a little more room for buttons, bows and other embellishments.
