Beauty of the Season

Previously I posted a card where I used the beautiful blizzard thninlit die to create snow flakes.  You can see that post Here.  The beauty of that particular die is you can also use the negative after you have punched out  the snowflakes.  That is my card today.

TIPS

I used the large sentiment from the Merry Christmas To All  stamp set.  I have a little trick for the combination of ink and silver embossing.

  • I used a versamark marker, yup, it’s a thing, only on the portion of the sentiment I wanted to emboss.
  • I stamped that on my card stock after carefully wiping it with my embossing buddy.
  • I embossed with silver embossing powder.
  • I carefully cleaned the stamp.  I didn’t want any residual versamark on it.
  • I used my real red Stampin write marker on the portion of the sentiment I wanted to be red.

I was really happy with the result.  I will say I had to do it more than once to get it perfect  but I’m so happy I stuck with it.

I added a little ribbon underneath I silver, red and white with silver trim.  This really pulls in the silver foil underneath the snowflakes.
