Sometimes cards just don’t come out the way I want them to. Sometimes that is way better than what I had in my head. Sometimes, like today, it isn’t. I’m sharing this card with you anyway, even though I’m not particularly happy with it.
I think it is the sentiment. The script of Happy Birthday just isn’t jiving with the rest of the card. I did like the piece of DSP behind the crumb cake cut out using the Path of Petals die. Except, it isn’t quite big enough to fill the entire oval. That was why I cut out the die four more times in Very Vanilla, Merry Merlot, Pear Pizzaz and Rococo Rose and cut the pieces out and placed them over top. Then I thought the frame looked a little bland so I stamped around the edge with the stem image from Path Of Petals. Of course there was the gap at the top where the background DSP didn’t cover so out came the Rococo Rose Ribbon. At that point it was just about lost but no, those Designer Elements would be cute……Sigh.
Just goes to show that not every card is a winner and even those of us who craft a lot can have bombs.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you come back next week for some good – really they are – cards using the Memorable Mosaic Suite. Until Then…
Happy Stamping
Lynn
