Country Club Birthday Card

I have a brother-in-law who is an avid golfer.  I think he holds down a full-time job and still manages to golf multiple times per week, even in tournaments.  So, when I saw the Country Club Suite I knew I would have to purchase it.

This is how I imagine he looks.  Swinging his club with a beautiful grove of trees in the background.  Two of the sheets of the Country Club Designer Series Paper are black and white images perfect for coloring.  No Stamping required.  I opted to use watercolor pencils for a soft colored look. These are the pencils I used. Stampin Up sells two sets of watercolor pencils,  I have all of mine in one case.  I’m sure there are some from both sets.  The two without labels were from a kit a couple of years ago.

Here’s a closer look at the image.

I used three colors of green on the trees: Granny Apple Green, Old olive and Garden Green.  Once all my coloring was complete I blended the colors with a Blender Pen.  These are of course Watercolor Pencils but since this wasn’t watercolor paper I felt the blender pen would do a better job.

There are lots of elements in this suite.  Even if you don’t have a golfer in your circle, the paper is perfect for masculine cards.  One side has golf-related imagery but the other is primarily plaids.  I’m a sucker for a pretty plaid.

  1. Such a great showcase of how easy it is to step up this black-and-white paper. Your coloring is wonderful! I adore the emblem in the top, right corner. Love it!
