Ok, so I’m having a hoot of a time with these little owls. Of course with a shop name like Avery’s Owlery I would have to, right, but they are just so darn cute and paired with some creative layers using the Celebration Dies makes them even more so.
I built this card from the top layer down, starting with the owls stamped twice, once for the label and again for die cutting. I colored each owl with a little Smoky Slate and Real Red Stampin Blend markers.
Then I started building layers to determine what color should go where until I was happy with the look. Play around with your own layers to see what strikes your fancy.
I always figured I would have a Real Red card base but it looked a little blank against the whisper white label so I pulled out my Textured Essentials stamp set and used the wood grain stamp repeatedly around the edges of the card base. There, much better.
