Storage is one of the most common topics amongst any hobby. How to store and organize all those bits and bobs you use to pursue your craft. I think Paper crafters have it the worst, what with paper, punches, dies, stamps, ink, markers, cutting, etc. The list goes on and one, but the one that most paper crafters have the hardest time with is embellishments storage Well, I’m here to help.
Before we go any further though, I need to announce the winner of my Birthday Beautiful Friendship Blog Candy……Karen. Thanks to all who played along.
Last year, Stampin’ UP! introduced a new kit called the Christmas Countdown kit. This kit was carried over to our current mini Catalog and is still available for purchase. The large box full of drawers originally designed for an Advent Calendar theme filled with daily treats can actually be used for many storage ideas. I repurposed my kit to store my embellishments. Woo Hoo!
I cut coordinating pieces of DSP to 1-7/8 x 1-7/8 the used a 1″ circle punch (retired but Layering circle dies would work too) on the top for the thumb hole. I cut down the sheets of embellishments, usually the adhesive kind on plastic sheets, down to size for fitting in the drawer. I put a few of them on the outside of the box so I could tell what was inside.
What makes this Embellishment Storage solution great? It sits right here on my desk where it is in plain view. As I’m crafting I can look over and chose just the right embellishment for my project. I’m using all those rhinestones, pearls, sequins, so much more frequently because they aren’t tucked away in a drawer.

I love this oh-so-much! Such a great idea – and I love that you’ve used all of these neutral tones!
I too love your use of the little boxes. My stamp club did the x-mas theme last year and are thinking of revisiting it again this year of COVID as a picker-up-er for the month of december. We will use little notes, ephemera and of course chocolate in the boxes.
I love that, Susan
