Aspen Tree die and Last day for Sale-A-Bration

Hard to believe but the end of our two months of Sale-a-Bration is ending today. That means one final day to get a free item with the purchase of $50 or more. Stampin’ UP! also added some additional items to the free selection list and I’m sharing one of them with you today, Aspen Tree dies.

I’m sure you’ve seen lots of projects on Pinterest and the internet using the Aspen trees die that also coordinates with the Perched on a Tree stamp set. And now that it is a free Sale-A-Bration item it’s even better. To see how I’ve used the SAB Aspen tree dies and the coordinating Perched on a Tree stamp set click on the images below.

As I was playing with the elements of this card I started by simply using a piece of basic white to cut out the aspen trees but it was too plain for my liking. That was when I went to my stash of Designer Series Papers and pulled out this beauty from Textured Chic, in the annual catalog. It really added needed color and texture to my card.

The leaves were both made in the same way, first by die cutting and then by adding color with sponge daubers. The larger leaf was cut from Pear Pizzaz while the smaller leaf was cut from So Saffron. Both have Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Crushed Curry inks. This is one of my favorite techniques this time of year.

  1. Love the card and how you used the DSP. But tell me, please, what die did you use for the smaller leaf? That’s not in my Aspen Trees die set. I love leaves and especially if I don’t have to cut them out! Thanks and keep on creating beautiful cards! You are an inspiration!
