Today’s card is just a fun, for any reason type of card. It’s also loosely based on the Freshly Made Sketch challenge 108.
About the card
1. I have to admit I was in a hurry tonight. We had been away for the weekend and normal stamping time was cut short but I wanted to post something for the challenge. I had already made these leaves for a class I taught last week and decided to use those as my focal point. Picked out some pretty background DSP from Sweater Weather and burlap ribbon. Add a beautiful phrase and I was good. I used Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral on the sentiment to simulate Sunshine and to tie into the colors in the leaves.
2. About the leaves. I used the Autumn Accents Bigz die to crop the leaves. I used various DSP patterned paper but they were all crushed Curry background. I found that the yellow looked better peeking through the sponging.
3. I spritz them with water, and wadded them up, then unfolded. I then had a crinkled looking leaf shape. I used Old Olive first in the center, then Calypso Coral out to the edges. Lastly, early espresso on the edges and over the top just a bit to pick up the creases.
I hope you like my card today. Have a great week.
Lynn
What I used
Stamps: Pursuit of Happiness, Paper: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Sweater Weather DSP, Very Vanilla, Ink: Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Accessories: Autumn Accents Bigz die, Framed Tulips embossing folder, Burlap ribbon.
These leaves are PHENOMENAL, Lynn! They actually look like dried up leaves – but I can see a hint of the DSP in the background. This is a gorgeous card. Nice work!
WOW! Beautiful! Your leaves are incredible! At first glance I thought… “how are those leaves going to hold up”. They look so real…..
