Ornate Thanks

I have one more card to share with you using the Ornate Garden Suite of products available on April 1 to purchase.  The suite has two amazing dies sets and I’m using some from each of them in my card today.

First, let’s talk about the front of the card. The border was die cut with one of the new Ornate borders dies.  How gorgeous is that on the edge of a card or layer.  Do you see the small branches I placed around the sentiment?  Those came from the cut-out portion on the border.

The layers on the front were cut from Ornate Layers dies.  You can see my other cards using these dies Here and Here.  The Thank You sentiment is also from the Ornate Thanks stamp set and fits perfectly on that layer of whisper white.  The little flowers are from the Ornate Border die set also and the gold faceted gems are available with this suite as well.

My card is a fancy fold showing off some of the pretty Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper.  The top of the card opens up, and the DSP opens down to show off the sentiment.

I used another of the border dies for the inside to jazz it up a little.  I also stamped one of the images from the Ornate Style stamp set in the corners and colored with some Stampin Blends.  I had to be a bit tricksy with the sentiment as it is actually all one line.

I used my stamparatus to line up the sentiment, then only inked the first half.

Then I used the hinge technique and moved the stamparatus plate down one notch and inked up the second half of the sentiment.

Thank you for visiting today.  I always appreciate your comments and answer all questions as soon as possible.  Until next time…

Happy Stamping
Lynn

  1. Love your card! Clever use of the stamparatus with the inside message. It is tricky to ink only half a message. You really were thinking outside the box with this card!

    • Thanks Susan, It was actually a happy accident. I had stamped the floral corners before I decided on a sentiment. Then the one I picked was too long to go anywhere all together. Had to figure out something. : )

  2. Beautiful card.

  3. I love this gorgeous card with the unique fun fold. It has a lot of fun surprises. The foil papers really add a nice pop. Beautiful! Enjoy your day!

  4. Lynn,

What is the hinge technique? I’ve never seen these before.
    Thanks,
    Linda

    • Hi Linda, the hinge technique is where you move the Stamparatus plate up or down a notch on the base. In this case, I stamped the first part of my sentiment with the plate in the standard position. Then I lifted the plate, moved it down one notch and inked the second half of my sentiment. I used the notches in the hinges on the stamparatus to keep everything straight. Hope that helps.

  5. Beautiful card. Thanks for the instructions.

  6. Lynn, I really want to know where you got the corner piece in your Stamparatus? I really wasn’t sure about buying the Misti ( I don’t remember what these are called?), I need to know what there called and where I can get the4m? Would you PLEASE consider doing a video on how to user these? But, most importantly, I need to tell you how beautiful your card is! It’s going to be my first card CASE with this suite! It is just too stunning for words! I was really hoping you’d include the cuts sizes of papers. Thank you for sharing this beautiful card with us!

    • Thank you so much for your compliment on my card Gloria. I’ve sent you a separate email but for those reading this here, the piece I use in my Stamparatus is called the Creative Corners from MISTI. If you do a search for MISTI it comes up. Cost is about $15 plus S&T.
I’ll work on a video for this card and share measurements too. Thanks for asking.
